Learn how to create a match room and control your rented server

How to Create a Match Room

Set up a competitive 5v5 (or 1v1 / 2v2 / 3v3) match in under 2 minutes

You're not signed in. Sign in with Steam to unlock Create Room, Join Room, and Server Rentals.
1

Sign in with Steam

Click the Steam logo button in the top-right navigation bar. You'll be redirected to Steam's login page and then brought back automatically.

Your SteamID is used to identify you — no password is stored on our side
2

Open "Create Room"

Click + Create Room in the navigation bar, or press the blue button on the home page hero section.

3

Name your room & choose match type

Give the room a name (e.g. Friday Scrim) and pick the format: 1v1 · 2v2 · 3v3 · 5v5. The player slot count adjusts automatically.

4

Select team mode

Pick how teams are formed:

👑

Captain Pick

Two captains take turns picking players. Best for balanced pickup games.

🎯

Team Join

Players choose their own team. Best for pre-arranged squads.

🏆

Team vs Team

Registered teams face each other. Best for clan matches & tournaments.

5

Set match format & map pool

Choose Best of 1 / 3 / 5. Then tick the maps you want in the pool — the veto system will let both teams ban maps down to the play map(s).

Minimum 7 maps recommended for a standard ban/pick veto
6

Configure veto mode

Select the ban sequence:

Ban-Ban-Pick — Most competitive. Both teams ban, then pick their map.
Ban-Pick-Ban — Alternate bans with one pick in the middle.
Pick-Pick — No bans, both teams choose. Quick & casual.

7

Create the room & share the code

Click Create Room. You'll get a lobby code — share it with all 10 players. Anyone with the code can join via Join Room in the nav.

Paste the code in Discord / team chat so everyone can join fast
8

Run the veto, then the match starts automatically

Once both teams complete the map veto, the system sends the match config to the server. All players receive a connect command to copy and paste into CS2. The match begins with a knife round.

Stats are tracked live — find your match on the home page after it ends

How to Access the Server Console

Available on any active rental — control your server directly from the browser

The Server Console only appears when your rental is currently active (status = Active and within the booked time window). It is not available on pending or completed rentals.
1

Book & activate a server rental

Go to Rent Server in your user dropdown, choose duration and submit. After payment is confirmed by an admin, the rental status changes to Active.

2

Open My Rentals

Click your avatar in the top-right → My Rentals. Find your active rental card — it shows a green "Active" badge and your server IP.

3

Click "Server Console" to expand the panel

Below the connect command button you'll find a Server Console toggle. Click it to reveal the RCON panel. The panel collapses when clicked again.

hostname: CSlobby Rental #1

Changing level to de_inferno…
> mp_restartgame 3
Game will restart in 3 seconds

Changing the Map

Switch maps instantly using the built-in dropdown

1

Open the Server Console panel

Expand the console from your active rental card in My Rentals.

2

Select a map from the dropdown

Under Quick Actions, use the map dropdown to pick a destination map. All standard CS2 maps are listed.

de_dust2 · de_mirage · de_inferno · de_nuke · de_ancient · de_anubis · de_overpass · de_vertigo · de_train · cs_office

3

Click "Change Map"

The blue Change Map button fires changelevel <map> on the server. The server will load the new map within ~5–10 seconds. All connected players are automatically transferred.

The ongoing match will be cancelled when the map changes — use this between games, not mid-round
You can also type changelevel de_dust2 manually in the Custom Command box for the same effect.

Tips & Common Scenarios

🔄

Starting a fresh match

Change to the right map → wait for load → run mp_restartgame 1 → both teams join and the knife round begins.

⏸️

Technical issues mid-match

Run mp_pause_match immediately. Fix the issue, then run mp_unpause_match to resume without losing round state.

🔑

Server is full / wrong players joined

Set a password with sv_password mycode, kick unwanted players with kickid <id> (get ids from status), then share the new password.

⏱️

Rental time is almost up

The server sends automatic in-game warnings at 15, 10, 5, and 1 minute before expiry. Extend your booking in My Rentals or finish the current map.

📊

Where are my match stats?

Stats are saved automatically when the match ends. Find them on the home page match list — click any match row to see the full scoreboard and player breakdown.

💬

Communicate with players in-game

Use say <message> to broadcast a server message visible to all players in chat.
